Machupicchu is one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World, a world heritage site, historic sanctuary of Peru and probably the most important archaeological site in Latin America. Machu Picchu was built by the Inca Pachacuteq and his people throughout the year of 1460 and is a majestic and ingenious architecture comprised if 140 structures throughout the main citadel. After being forgotten for many years, in the American explorer Hiram Bingham re-discovered the citadel on 1911. Machu Picchu’s most important structures are the PachaMama Temple, the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Intihuatana “sundial”, and the Temple of the Condor.

We will start the day with pick-up from your hotel in Cusco and a car ride of about 2 hours to the train station in Ollantaytambo. From Ollantaytambo, we will take the train to the town of Aguas Calientes During the train ride, you will enjoy the beautiful mountains, snow-capped mountains, valleys, rivers, Inca constructions, Inca terraces, picturesque villages and some brow of jungle. Once in Aguas Calientes, we will head to the bus station and take the bus for 30 minutes to the Inca city of Machu Picchu.
Inside the archaeological site of Machu Picchu, we will enjoy a guided tour for 2 hours and visit the most important places including the PachaMama Temple, the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Intihuatana “sundial”, and the Temple of the Condor. After your guided tour of the main sectors, you will have free time to explore Machu Picchu on your own.
After your visit, you will be required to head back to the town of Aguas Calientes to catch your return train at 18:20 hrs. The train ride will be from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo. In Ollantaytambo, a transfer will be waiting for you to bring you back to Cusco (to drop you off at your hotel in Cusco).
