Day 1: CUSCO – MOLLEPATA – CHALLACANCHA – SORAYPAMPA
Day 1: CUSCO – MOLLEPATA – CHALLACANCHA – SORAYPAMPA

Highlights: Walk from Challacancha to Soraypampa, afternoon visit to Humantay Lake, views of Apu Umantay and Salkantay.
We start the day with pick-up from your hotel in Cusco between 4:30 am and 5:00 am. From Cusco, we will head to the town of Mollepata located at about 3 hours by car from Cusco. On the way, we will pass different towns including Poroy and Limatambo. In Mollepata, we will make a stop to use hygienic services, shop last minute item at the kiosks and have breakfast (optional). We will then continue to Challacancha, where we will meet the group’s support staff, horses and mules. We will begin the hike to Soraypampa (3,920 m.a.s.l.) at around 9:00 am. This hike is 7 km, lasting approximately 3 hours and passing through deep valleys, with old water channels still used today by farmers of the area. Once at Soraypampa, we will have our lunch before heading to Humantay Lake.
The hike to Humantay Lake is 5 km lasting approximately 3 hours round trip. There you will observe panoramic views of mountain of Humantay, its glacier and perhaps even the sunset.
Back at the camp of Soraypampa, we will have tea time before dinner and spend the night seeing the constellations and shooting stars.

Day 2: SORAYPAMPA – PASO DE SALKANTAY – WAYRACMACHAY – CHAULLAY

Highlights: views of the peak of Salkantay Mountain and the cloud forest of the Chaullay valley
The day will begin with a very early wake up at 5:00 a.m. Our team will wake you up with coca tea – effective for altitude sickness. We will have a light breakfast before beginning the day’s hike. From Soraypampa, we will hike to the highest point of the trek, the Salkantay Pass (4,630 m.a.s.l.) This hike has a distance of 7 km and will last approximately 4 hours. On this hike you will have amazing views of the mountains of Pumasillo, Inca Chiriaska and the magnificent Apu Salkantay (6,271 m.a.s.l.), the second highest point in the region of Cusco. From Salkantay Pass, we will continue to our lunch spot by descending for 3 hours between the valley of rocks and the mountain of Salkantay.
After lunch, we will continue on to enter “brow of the jungle” also known as the cloud forest. In this walk of 10 kilometers and lasting 3 hours, you will see native plants, orchids, begonias, bromeliads, bamboo etc. Our final destination for the day will be the campsite called Chaullay (2,900 m.a.s.l.).
Tea time will be served prior to dinner.

Day 3: CHAULLAY – COLLPAPAMPA – LA PLAYA SAHUAYACO - LUCMABAMBA

Highlights: Hike in the tropical forest where we will appreciate landscapes, wildlife, waterfalls and see different wild fruits such as avocado, banana, papaya, aguaymanto, granadilla, pumpkin, and visit to organic coffee plantation and enjoy the rich organic coffee
The day will begin with a very early wake up at 5:00 a.m. Our team will wake you up with coca tea – effective for altitude sickness. We will have a light breakfast before beginning the day’s hike. We will then begin hiking to Sahuayaco Beach (2,082 m.a.s.l.) for a distance of 15 km and lasting 5 hours. During the day’s trek, we will observe a great variety of flora – begonias, bromeliads, orchids, bamboo, wild strawberries, granadillas, bananas, avocado- and fauna of the area. Once at the site, we will also enjoy a visit to organic coffee plantation and lunch.
After lunch, we will take local transportation to Hidroelectrica. The car ride will be about 1.5 hrs. From Hidroelectrica, we will continue with our walk to the Aguas Calientes town, located at the base of Machu Picchu. We will spend the night in Aguas Calientes at a hotel or hostel (included) where you will access to hot shower, and. Wi-fi. We will also enjoy of a delicious dinner in a tourist restaurant.

Day 4: MACHUPICCHU ES EL DIA MAS IMPORTANTE – CUSCO

Highlights: Visit to Machu Picchu
In the morning, we will walk to Machu Picchu (the optional $ 12 bus) and try to be early for the opening time at 6:00 a.m. In Machu Picchu, we will have a 2-hour guided tour visiting the most important places of the site. You will have free time to explore Machu Picchu on your own after the guided tour. During this free time, you can choose to take the extra hike to the Inti Punku, Inca Bridge or either extra hike up to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (not included).
After your visit to Machu Picchu, you will head back to Aguas Calientes to catch your return train to Ollantaytambo. From Ollantaytambo, you will then take the bus back to Cusco. You will be dropped off at your hotel in Cusco.

  • Transportation – The bus will come to your hotel in Cusco for pickup in the morning Day 1 and will take you to Challacancha (trailhead).

  • Personal tent – Our 4-man tent will be arranged for 2 people for comfort and room.
  • Camping equipment including dining room, kitchen tent, tables and chairs. Our support staff will carry all camping equipment.
  • Accommodation – 2 nights camping & 01 hotel night at selected accommodation in Aguas Calientes
  • Hotel in Aguas Calientes – double,matrimonial or triple rooms, wifi & storage facility
  • Cargo horse – to carry equipment & your duffle bags
  • Duffle bag – In here you can pack your personal things for a maximum of 7 KG (including your sleeping bag).
  • Chef –The cook will prepare all the food throughout this trip.
  • Meals – 3 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 3 dinners and snacks (vegetarian, vegan or special menus may be catered for at no extra cost).
  • Morning tea – We will give you the morning tea “mate de coca” every morning.
  • Teatime or Happy Hour – We will give you teatime just one hour before dinner.
  • Daily snacks – Provided on Day, 1, 2 and 3. Our snacks consist of local fruit, cookies, chocolate and candy.
  • Garbage Bag – This bag is to avoid throwing garbage to nature because we respect the PACHAMAMA (MOTHER EARTH).
  • Water for personal grooming – We will provide you with a small basin of lukewarm water every morning along with a small towel.
  • Train Tickets from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo.
  • Transportation back to Cusco –The bus will pick you up from Ollantaytambo to bring you back to your hotel in Cusco.
